How to change the DB2 Version from ESE to WSE

If you need to change DB2 version , you have to either a)uninstall the old version or b) upgrade it to the new version. In these notes, I am uninstalling the old version. An application owner reported an error DB2 SQL error SQLCODE -30082, SQLSTATE 08001, SQLERRMC 42;ROOT CAPABILITY REQUIRED;DSRA0010E SQL State = 08001, Error Code = -30,082. I checked in the db2diag.log Password validation for user xxxxx failed with rc = -2146499506 The main reason this sequence of errors appear is due to the DB2 password daemon not started. Useradd in Linux - Not copying any file from skel directory into it

When creating a new local user on Linux with the useradd and the directory already exists , the following error \ warning message appears: useradd: warning: the home directory already exists. Not copying any file from skel directory into it. If the directory didn’t exist , the Linux useradd process creates the directory and copies the skel files : .kshrc , .bashrc , .bash_profile and .bash_logout files into the user directory.
