Linux GET command returning a web page by default

26 May,2011 by Tom Collins

I  typed the Linux Command GET DBM CFG into my Putty console – rather than db2 GET DBM CFG   and  web page code was returned . That’s interesting!

The GET program is used to send requests to www servers. There are various switches , such as :

-b This URI will be used as the base URI for resolving all relative  URIs given as argument.

The interesting discovery is that  by issuing a command such as : # GET DB2   , it will default by requesting the default page of  db2.org  , or if requesting    # GET SQL   , it will default to sql.org

Linux get command

The same web page through a browser

Linux get db2 org
